This script (called fpln.pl) will help you to generate the fpln-id that is required by MCHIPS.

You will need a tab-delimited file which has the following format:

plate letter number name1 name2

The second name-field is NOT mandatory and can be omitted. The results will be stored in a file ending in '*.res'. The 'field'-variable will be automatically set to 1, if this is not appropriate for your array please conact me.

how to use:

1.) ssh fez

2.) login

3.) ftp your file on fez (when using windows)

4.) type fpln.pl

5.) provide filename - that's it :)

The result file will have the format:
field_plate_letter(as number)_number name1 (name2)
